Edward Snowden(former US spy agency contractor) has applied temporary asylum in Russia on tuesday.
He is being prosecuted for US espionage charges.He has also applied for asylum in Latin America,but isn't risking any flights that US might intercept.
How-When-Why?...
Anatoly Kucherena,a lawyer who met Snowden on friday along with human right activists informed about this news.Anatoly told-"For now hes not going anywhere.For now he plans to stay in Russia".
The application has beem submitted by Snowden
The head of FMS(Federal Migration Service) confirmed that agency had received his application.
Snowden currently trapped in transit zone of Moscow's Sheremetyevo airport.
Snowden has said US and its allies are preventing him from reaching Latin American countries for asylum.
Now What?...
Well,Kucherena has said Snowden's asylum request will receive a decision soon !
Kucherena also said temporary asylum will also require decree from President Vladimir Putin.
Putin has rejected previous requests of US to hanover Snowden.
Putin has previously also said that Snowden must stop all activities that harm the US.
